Project Overview
Located in Japan, this freshwater recirculating aquaculture project is used for intermediate eel rearing. The system has a water volume of 240 m³ and 11 culture tanks: three measuring Ø6 m × 1.5 m and eight measuring Ø4 m × 1.5 m. The project is operational.
YUTANK’s scope covered system design, main equipment manufacturing, on-site installation and commissioning. The system combines mechanical filtration, protein separation, biological treatment, degassing, oxygenation and disinfection.
Site constraints included restrictions on excavation, limited building height and insufficient water supply. The recorded approach used backfilling in place of excavation and a storage reservoir to address water availability.
