Project Overview
Located in Abha, Saudi Arabia, this commercial recirculating aquaculture project was launched in July 2024 for the full-cycle production of tilapia, covering incubation, nursery and grow-out stages. The project represents a planned investment of more than RMB 50 million and is designed with a total culture water volume of 5,000 m³. Phase one includes approximately 2,500 m³ of water across 36 culture tanks, with a planned annual production capacity of 450 tonnes.
Developed for Abha’s limited water resources and summer temperatures reaching 45°C, the RAS incorporates heat-resistant, energy-efficient and corrosion-resistant equipment. Mechanical filtration, biological treatment, oxygenation, disinfection and SCADA-based monitoring maintain a stable culture environment. With more than 95% of the water continuously recirculated, the system reduces freshwater consumption and wastewater discharge while supporting reliable year-round tilapia production.
YUTANK’s scope covered system design, main equipment manufacturing, on-site installation and commissioning.
